I love TheFashBot because she is all attitude.

She’s from the Midwest, and I know there are a lot of Midwesterners out there who are feelin’ the heat. Also, for those whose style is a bit more on the playful side – TheFashBot gives us Chictopians a few different options to try.

Have a nice weekend!

Dressing For The Heat – Midwest Edition!

Ok, so it’s summer. And it’s pretty damn hot. This means that most people, especially over here in the non-trendy midwest, opt for a tank, cotton shorts, and flip flops. Or for you hipster kids, an American Apparel v-neck, denim cutoffs, and gladiators. But wait! There are more options! Let me explain:

I’ve never understood the whole summer = not caring how you look thing. Personally, I care way less about w...

A day in the life of a Chictopia intern

As you guys may or may not know, Linda and I are interning for Chictopia in addition to contributing to this blog. A substantial amount of our work involves top secret work through the internet or in person and for the latter dressing to impress is a necessity.

This is what we wore to venture around San Francisco with Lulu and to do top secret-ing things in the city. Imagine that, a pack of three girls walking around in mostly black outfits!

vintage bag, scarf and booties

Winter in Summer

[Sorry for the lack of updates—I’ve been swamped at work.]

This is an outfit from last week when it felt like winter in SF. I sported a plaid poncho I bought from the women’s floor of UO some months ago to help layer against the cold.

The poncho’s great for it’s warmth, versatility and slightly disheveled look, so much that I bought it in another color! Since it is quite big, I often pair it with a shorter jacket to play with more than one length.

Between the poncho’s shape and jacket’s boxy structure, I thought to keep the rest simple: skinny jeans, Keds and a beanie.

I have a question to ask:
What would you like to see on MaleUgly?

Posts coming up include:
- Shopping guide, for men
- What’s in his bag?
- Club apparel for guys
- Street seen: guys with a sartorial sense
- Street seen: guys with a fashionable sense
- Street seen: guys with ...

From picnic to night club

I’ve previously ranted about the difficulties of dressing for unpredictable summer weather. But what about those summer days that start with lunchtime drinks in a park and carry on right through the day and to a bar at night?

Wearing the same clothes all day and going from a park to a trendy East London bar is a sartorial challenge, but since summer days are all about fun it’s good to get outfit stresses out of the way beforehand so you can focus on the more important things like sun, snacks and booze.

How to dress for an all dayer…

Dress for the evening – You’re going to care a lot more about your appearance when you’re out at night, so think of an outfit you want to wear in the evening then work on pairing it down for the day. Try removing jewellery and other accessories, changing shoes and even playing with the waistline as I’ve done to make the look more relaxed. There’s no logic behind the hat, I just bought it and I ...
