Hey Ladies! Today I decided to share with you stylish nails instead of stylish clothing. I’m going to share with you how to make rainbow nails. This one is pretty easy and very affordable too. I only spent less than $7 for everything plus my ever-dependable Sally Hansen clear coat used as base and top coat. Let’s begin.

Step 1: Apply Base Coat
Once you’ve chosen the colors that you like for your rainbow nails, begin painting your clean nails with a clear coat or base coat. This adds protection to your nails and helps color stay longer. Let it dry and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Paint the Whole Nail the Bottom Color
Once your clear coat or base coat is dry, it’s time to get the bottom color for your rainbow nails and paint the whole nail that color just like you would normally paint your fingernails. Apply the nail color to all your fingernails and let it dry.

Step 3: Paint the Top 2/3 of Your Nails the Second Color
Take your second or middle nail color and paint the top two thirds of your nails that color. It’s important to apply it horizontally to make the stripe or line straight. It’s more straight because it follows the line of the paint brush or the brush stroke. Another trick that you can do if you’re afraid you don’t have a steady hand, is to get a strip of scotch tape and tape the bottom third of your nails. This way, the bottom is covered and you only get to paint the top two thirds of your nails. Let it dry and remove the scotch tape slowly and carefully.

Step 4: Paint the Top Third the Last Color
Now it’s time to take your third or last nail color and apply it on the top third of your nails. Do it the same way you did with the second color. After you’re done applying the nail polish, let it dry.

Step 5: Apply Top Coat
Once the nail color is dry, take your clear coat and apply the top coat to your fingernails. Let it dry completely before you clean up the sides of your nails with cotton and nail polish remover. Now, you’re ready to flaunt those summer-ready rainbow nails!
